Walker Edison 3-Piece Contemporary Desk Review

Walker Edison 3-Piece Contemporary Desk
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For anyone on the fence after reading some reviews PLEASE READ THIS: First of all I ordered the SILVER version so I knew I was getting the "X" frame as one reviewer noted. The BLACK framed desk at double the price is the one that the reviewer gave 1 star for not being "Y" framed... Anyway this desk is AWESOME I am 6'1" and I had no problem with the "height" of this desk, I suppose if you had a chair that was made for a dining room table or something it may not fit but I have a "computer chair" that is adjustable. When I put the chair on its lowest level I have like over 6" of clearance between the bottom of the keyboard tray and my legs. The desk looks great, the glass is high quality and tempered, to give you an idea while putting it together one of the "X" legs fell from a standing position straight onto the glass, it made a large smack when it hit but the glass didn't even have a scratch... Nice.
I am an IT professional and I am using this desk to work on multiple computers at once, I have two LCD monitors on it as well as a laptop and it feels REALLY STURDY.
For $77 (and no tax) delivered to your door you really can't beat the price, throw in moderate quality coupled with a modern design and this is THE BEST COMPUTER DESK FOR YOUR MONEY ANYWHERE! I looked at Wal-mart, Target, Bestbuy, Staples, and Shopko and this beat all of them hands down. BUY THIS DESK YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Arch Corner Computer Workstation - Silver and Black - 50510 Review

Arch Corner Computer Workstation - Silver and Black - 50510
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pros: Very stylish design. The speaker stands put the sound near ear level and also free up desk space. The two extra shelves means that the small profile doesn't lack for storage surface. Although it took a while, the assembly was simple enough for one person to do and the desk is easier to move around than some wood behemoth. The back of the main shelf easily holds a 23" widescreen monitor, and could probably hold a 25". The base can hold a subwoofer that's around 14" on a side. The built-in CD racks are useful if you have 10 or fewer frequently-used disks, though they're too small for the DVD cases that more and more software is packaged in.
Cons: The instruction manual calls Part #18 a Phillips screw, when they're Allen. I only figured this out after buying some replacements at a hardware store and having these "other screws" left over at the end- fortunately the assembly is easily reversible. The cable collar is a joke- only 1/4 of the cover irises open for use, which would work fine for a few USB connections if they're fed through one at a time, but not much else (I wound up leaving it out). No beveled edges to the shelves, and they become quite irritating if you rest your hands/wrists against them for more than a minute or two. It's probably not a gamer's desk unless you put the keyboard on the main shelf next to the mouse (which cuts out about 30% of the free space in front), as opposed to the keyboard tray. A small triangular footprint means that it's got a bit of wobble to it.
Yeah, that's a lot of Cons compared to Pros, but most of them are niggles that don't detract enough to give it only 3 stars.

Beautiful and wonderful desk, it's " L " shaped so it fits in the corner utilizing space better than a straight desk - has plenty of space for my needa & has a pull out keyboard shelf. It does take attention to assemble and persistance - about 2-3 hours, I obviously assembled mine correctly, all the parts were there, & I am delighted with it ! ! !

This desk arrived with a total of eight missing parts. Customer service via telephone had me on hold for so long I gave up (tried calling several times throughout the day). Emailing customer service generated no response.
I ended up welding this thing together and fabricating my own parts to replace the missing ones.
I recommend this if you have extensive metal working skills and can handle frustration. Note the sarcasm.

Black Metal & Natural Finish Wood Corner Computer Desk Workstation Review

Black Metal and Natural Finish Wood Corner Computer Desk Workstation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned this product for a couple months now and am satisfied with the results. Materials and final construction is sturdy. Elegent and modern design is spacious for a corner unit. Would have preferred actual wood material than pressed fiber board however for the price this is expected. Assembly instructions were a bit vague but with a bit of common sense and by process of elimination, a successfull build can be achieved in less than an hour. Desk looks fantastic when used with a modern black styled desk top computer system. Smart placement of tower on the bottom right compliments gaming computers with plexiglass windows for internal viewing (usually on left side of tower). Not recommended for end users needing desk space for studying as desk space is quickly occupied with the keyboard and mouse. There is a bit of room near the corners however. Overall looks great and will fit in with any modern, contemporary home with simple or fancy decor. Recommended for a person looking for a corner computer desk unit with style and a budget in mind.

South Shore Furniture Prairie Collection Corner Desk, Country Pine Review

South Shore Furniture Prairie Collection Corner Desk, Country Pine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just got this desk yesterday and I have to say, I'm very impressed with it.
After only seeing one review for this product, I was a little wary about purchasing something like this online. However, I've always had good experiences with Amazon so I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. One great part this product is that it's eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping. That really helped, though it took a couple of weeks for my desk to finally get here.
Please keep in mind that this desk is HUGE. Also, I was under the impression that I would be getting one parcel, but in fact this desk comes in two separate boxes. The delivery man had to struggle to get these in the door because they were so heavy.
The desk took me around three hours to assemble. I'm a girl and I worked by myself on it, so maybe it will give you an indication on how easy it is to put together. The instructions were very clear and if you follow all the steps you can have it up in no time. The time consuming part was that there were so many pieces (not to mention steps) but believe me, it's worth it.
As for the end product itself, it looks amazing when you set it up. It looks EXACTLY like it does in the preview images here. Sometimes you see something online and it doesn't turn out to be what you imagined. This is exactly what you would expect. It's not flimsy junk, either. The desk feels very sturdy and comes with a built-in drawer for your computer keyboard, and even comes with a built-in CD rack. The desk is beautiful, and really saves space. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with any drawers for storage, but that wasn't a particulary important feature for me.
I think it's definitely worth the money. Great purchase!

This attractive corner desk from South Shore's Prairie Collection, with its three-sectioned body and hutch, affords ample surface and storage space for the home office. With the mid-section's rollout keyboard shelf and open hutch window, the desk design accommodates a computer with up to a 21-inch monitor. The open hutch permits discrete cable passage to an electrical outlet, or other computer accessories like a workstation tower, printer, or speaker set. Store these extra computer components next to the hutch of either desk's side section, or on the fixed shelf below of each section's tabletop. File boxes, notebooks, and large books also find a home on these shelves. For smaller books or displaying framed photographs, one of the hutch's side segments offers two adjustable shelves to create three compartments. The other section hosts a black 18-CD rack between two tall cubicles of identical size. Two short horizontal shelves sandwich these three vertical partitions while housing office essentials like a stapler, calculator, hole punch, tape dispenser, and USB cables or flash drives.
The Environmentally Preferred Product (EPP) certified corner desk is crafted out of engineered wood and recycled fiber, with a warm country pine finish. The 22-by-15-inch keyboard shelf rolls out on patented metal slide tracks with safety stops to prevent overextension of the shelf. The corner desk matches the Morgan Collection lateral filing cabinet, available through separate purchase. This unit requires home assembly. To clean the desk, wipe with a damp cloth and avoid the use of ammonia-based cleansers to prevent the finish from deteriorating. Shipped in two boxes, a limited five-year warranty covers this item upon its purchase and online registration. Assembled with the hutch, the 55-inch high corner desk spans an area 62 inches wide by 62 inches deep and weighs 143 pounds.

I saw the store model and noticed that the desk was a little lopsided, the sales person told me the store clerks had put it together wrong. Well, I was snookered. The holes for all the screws were not lined up properly. the entire desk slants so badly that I couldn't install the bottom drawer or the door.

Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry Review

Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, Harvest Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This desk looks nice, but the quality is poor. The drawers were damage when received, I called the customer service and they sent me the new ones.
Some parts of the desk should be metal but they are plastic instead. So, it is very easy to break. My 16 months old son opened the drawers and CPU door a few times and they broke. They are very easy to get scratches.

This attractive corner desk from Bush Furniture's Vantage collection affords ample surface and storage space for a home office. Crafted from medium density fiberboard and paper, a rich harvest cherry finish adorns the desk for an elegant veneer. The left side of the desk features an elevated shelf, great for a desk lamp or printer, a small storage shelf, and a CPU storage compartment. For adjusting computer wires and cables, the desk supplies rear access to the CPU compartment. A frosted glass window covers the front of the compartment for CPU concealment. Next to the elevated desk section, the desk contains a file drawer for letter-sized file folders, a second small storage drawer, and two open storage compartments. The shelf separating the open compartments can be adjusted for varied height, or removed for one larger storage space. For ideal monitor placement, the main desktop lies at a diagonal angle so that the user faces the corner of both the room and the desk. A sliding keyboard and mouse tray is mounted underneath the desktop. In the center and right corners of the corner desk, two L-shaped legs extend and lay flush on the floor to support the desktop's weight. All drawers and the CPU compartment door open with a tug on the chrome loop-style handles. The corner desk requires home assembly and comes with necessary hardware and instructions. In the event of defects, a one-year limited warranty covers this item. The corner desk measures 58-1/2 inches wide by 38-2/5 inches deep by 35-2/5 inches high assembled. Upon shipping, the desk weighs 138 pounds.

Bush Tacoma Corner Wood Computer Desk in Harvest Cherry Review

Bush Tacoma Corner Wood Computer Desk in Harvest Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To be honest my husband and I were a little disappointed with this desk. It looks nice once it is put together; however it is built from compressed wood and veneer facing. If I were to see this desk in stores, I would not have paid more than $75 for it. I am not high maintenance when it comes to products so my expectations are not unrealistic, but for the price I feel it is lacking in quality. The packaging that the desk arrived in was all intact, but there were a few minor scratches and chipped corners due to the lack of interior packaging. I normally do not write reviews for products, but since the quality of the desk was nowhere near what the picture and description describes, I felt the need to do so.

Vantage Corner Desk Review

Vantage Corner Desk
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife and I have had this desk for 3 years now. We bought it from a national office supply chain store for $140 and it wasn't even worth that much. Let me explain why...
Pros:
1) Cheaper than a real wood desk of similar size
2) Looks appealing to the eye once assembled
3) Plenty of drawer and surface space for the average home office
4) Directions are easy to understand and follow
Cons:
1) Incredibly HEAVY. Once you put it together, I hope you never have to move it. If you do, you must almost completely disassemble it. If you try moving it as one piece, even to a different spot in the room, you WILL break it. Either the assembly screws will snap, or the particleboard pieces themselves will crack/break.
2) A cheap paper "wood" pattern covers the whole thing. If you don't use a coaster EVERY time you place a drink on it, it WILL warp and degrade the surface. Also, a mouse pad is required when computing. Otherwise, the natural oils and/or sweat from your hand will cause the surface to deteriorate and warp as well.
3) The top piece curves out toward the user, which may be uncomfortable for some people who like to scoot up to the desk and keep their keyboard on top instead of using the sliding tray. It forces you to sit back farther than you may like, making the monitor harder to see at a distance. If you have a beer gut (which I don't), I would imagine it would be even more uncomfortable.
4) The space on the left where you are supposed to put your computer tower is too small to accommodate many modern cases. Also, if your mouse and keyboard cords aren't a mile long or have extensions, they will have a hard time reaching from the desk surface down to the tower.
5) Finally (and probably most importantly), you should NOT store your tower in the dedicated space, even if it fits. Heat is like Kryptonite to a computer, and placing it in a confined space that's enclosed on 5 sides and has zero air circulation is NOT a wise idea, particularly if you have a high-end machine that produces more heat than your average system. We use this compartment to store blank media, printing paper and other miscellaneous things and have our tower located to the right of the desk (not under it) so that it gets proper air circulation.
When we saw this desk assembled in the store, it looked quite impressive and seemed well built. However, let me just say that when we move next month, this thing will NOT be coming with us. I'll be taking the time and effort to build a new desk out of REAL wood for us to enjoy.
I hope this review helped you in your decision.
