(More customer reviews)I love the five star notebooks - the pages can tear out cleanly, have pre-punched holes if you need to file them, pockets for returned assignments and/or a class syllabus, and a sturdy enough cover that a coffee spill does very little damage to the pages. Yes, I am a nerd for school supplies and yes, the Mead Five Star Notebook made me this way.

Design-R Poly Envelope with Velcro Closure, 13"x9-3/8", Blue LIO22080BL Review

(More customer reviews)Here in Hawaii, it can be hard to find things. Specialized school supplies are only available for about a month, and then you're out of luck for another year. So when my daughter was asked to get a plastic, velcro closure envelope in the 2nd month of school, I couldn't get one on the island anymore. I have purchased locally something similar in the past and was hoping this would be the same. It wasn't.
I don't think this envelope is the size stated in the product description. I think it is maybe 9x12. I bought it to hold a composition book and it wasn't big enough. The plastic is thin and flimsy. I don't think it would have held up to being carried back and forth to school.
Instead, it is now an expensive envelope for origami paper.

(More customer reviews)I have to have this exact notebook for school. It is big enough for me to glue standard paper into. Easy to tear out. Only problem is it takes up a lot of room in my binder. You can get it less expensive too.

This is Sam Kochel again and now I am reviewing a product that once demonstrated to my father and also my stepfather, the former ended up having me pick one up for him and the later bought a whole set of them for everyone in his law office. Myself, I have one at home and 1 in my classroom where I teach.
Here's what I have to say about it:
This is by far the best stapler you will ever use. It may not be heavy and feel good like a nice professional looking one, but it is very easy to operate and compress and will easily put a staple through 20 sheets of paper as it says, probably more...as I've tested it. You can open this stapler up and literally shoot staples 15 feet with this thing: that's the kind of power your going to generate, and all with a spring that is pre-cocked, so it requires very little effort. My dad got his because he is getting arthritis and has trouble more and more with his hands, so this is perfect for him. I got mine because of two reasons. 1) Sometimes I staple many many sheets together at a time for some school related thing, and 2) I like gadgets...I am not certain that is the correct order of importance, but regardless, this stapler is TOTALLY worth is and the best. I highly recommend it.
Lastly, I hope this review was useful to you and that my efforts were not wasted, it was much harder to write this than it would have been to use this stapler.

Mead Black Marble Wide-Ruled Composition Book (09910) Review

(More customer reviews)The "original" old Mead Composition Book is a classic. But recently Mead changed the Composition Book so that it's now worthless. The paper seems like it isn't 100% pure quality tree paper so it's not as smooth to write on, the cover is a messy "plastic-type" cardboard, the black tape comes off in 3 months. I hate these things now.
I bought 50 of these "new type" Mead Composition Books and the 10 new ones that I still have left, have rotted and the black tape has warped and come off. The 40 that I used up with writing, have also rotted and the black tape has come off. It's a real mess if you store them in old bookshelves. Some are made in India or Brazil and none are no longer made in the USA. The USA ones were the absolute best, with real tree paper, not "plastic-wax type" mesh waste paper, and real tree cardboard covers.
If you need fairly adequate paper to write on, get Japanese Stationery (ex: Apica Notebooks), Rhodia, Rediform DaVinci Notebooks, Leuchtturm Notebooks, Black n' Red Notebooks, or Clairefontaine, they're very good and of high quality. The paper is of a high standard.
Also, Moleskine Cahier Large Ruled Notebook (set of 3) and Writersblok Medium Ruled Notebook (set of 3), are good substitutes, of higher quality, for the Mead Black Composition Book if you're a writer like I am. It costs more but if you're a writer who needs decent paper to write on, it's well worth it.
If you're just using the Mead Black Composition Book for school notes, doodling or odd ends, it's at least useable with a good pen.
The "original" old Mead Composition Book didn't need to be changed. Bring it back.
