I have been wanting to get rid of the monitor stands on two desks to have better alignment/positioning and a more sleek, clean appearance. One desk has two Dell 24" monitors and the other has three. After looking at several two and three display stands that handle 24" monitors, this one caught my eye for some reason.
The legs are pretty big, but I think that's probably to be expected. I wasn't really expecting too much assembly. So many people say an item has insufficient instructions or "the instructions were confusing". I usually don't have a problem things together, but I had some issues with this thing. In the end, it all came together.
Everything is pretty sturdy....except for the "donuts" that hold the monitors in place. It's a pain trying to get monitors in the right place. Shifting them side to side is easy, but tilting them up/down and left/right just didn't work for me. I looked at the item page again and I forgot there was a video. Adjusting the height on the back pole DOES NOT work like that. You have to take the monitors off, loosen the screws, adjust, put the monitors back on, and hopefully you got them in the right spot. If not, you'll have to do that again. There is no kind of quick release handle. Just two screws. I gave up.
I tried to route the power and DisplayPort cables, but apparently only the cable and not the end connectors go through the poles and little balls hold the cables in place. It just looked like a joke.

Short story long, I sent it back. I'm pretty picky when it comes to having the monitors in the right spot and I haven't tried any others yet, so maybe these types of stands just aren't for me. I never got them in the position I wanted and even if I did, they don't seem to stay in place.

Sparco Stand,Mntr/Prtr,Mesh,Blk Review

Great value for money monitor stand that looks good and functions well.
The black mesh look blends well with my predominantly black computer equipment and is a huge improvement over the pile of telephone directories I was previously using.
The stand is sturdy enough for a regular or large flat panel monitor without problem but I wouldn't want to try a large/heavy CRT (old-style) monitor, if anyone still uses one.
The design has a couple of nice features - 2 side compartments for holding the little stuff that can clutter a desk, such as post-it notes, paper-clips, pens, usb jump drives, etc. and a slide out tray large enough to hold letter-size paper easily. The tray is a mesh basket with one side open. I read another review that said things kept falling out of the open side at the back but I turned my tray the other way around and have the open side at the front; this made more sense to me. If you prefer to use the under-stand space without the tray you could just remove it completely and have just over 5" of clearance.
For the price I paid, I could not have hoped for a better stand.

Mx Desk Mount LCD Arm Review

Mx Desk Mount LCD Arm

I'm already a huge fan of Ergotron products going back to when I used to design and install computer rooms and data centers. So, when the time came for me to buy something for my home office, I did shop a bit but always came back to Ergotron. Last year I purchased the LX Dual Desk Mount Arm to support a 22" Samsung monitor and my Apple MacBook Pro 15". This setup has been awesome, providing me with a dual-monitor feature that is really a time saver.
I want to provide some key information to anyone considering this device that I think will help you decide.
1) I purchased this arm concerned it may not support the weight of the Apple iMac 27" computer. The computer with the base weighs in at 30.5 lbs and without the base is ~27.5 lbs. so based on the math, I'm well within the weight range of the MX Arm spec. That being said, since I already knew how to adjust my LX Dual Arm setup, I found the MX to be identical in adjustment and fitment capability.
2) Ergotron sent a nice package of bolts, screws, desk-mount optional hardware and even a set of tools to make the adjustments. Setting it up was simple and getting attached was fairly straight forward. They provide a wing-nut to tighten the base to the desk but I recommend if you have a heavy monitor or computer like I do, go to a nearby hardware store and buy a nylon-insert nut (I forgot the specific size, just take the bolt with you) and use that to fasten it to the desk. Be sure not to over tighten it or you could potentially damage your furniture and the swing arm.
3) If your computer or monitor leans toward the high end of the scale with respect to the specification of this swing arm, be sure to pre-tighten the adjustment screws before you put weight on it. You'll find it much easier to do and, easier to adjust afterward. I should have I know but I didn't keep track of how many revolutions I made on the neck and head adjustments but suffice it to say it was more than 20 full revolutions. You'll get a sense for how the tension is but just be careful not to over tighten.
4) Make sure you've assembled everything according to the spec but also make sure you've installed your mounting bracket correctly so that you can just simply lay the monitor or the computer on the MX Arm and hand tighten the large plastic-headed screws to the 100x100 mounting plate. This will make life very easy.
Bottom line, I used the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for 24-inch/27-inch iMac and 24-inch LED Cinema Display - Apple Part Number: MC434ZM/A -- this worked perfectly and was very well made.
This was a very straight forward and very effective solution for what I was trying to achieve. I'm now able to swing my Apple 27" iMac 180 degrees around on my desk, pivot it upward about 70 degrees and lower it if needed. It works very well, its very well made and I highly recommend this to anyone considering this sort of mount for your large iMac or Cinema displays!!!

Kensington Spin2 Monitor Stand with SmartFit System, Height Adjustable (K60049US) Review

Kensington Spin2 Monitor Stand with SmartFit System, Height Adjustable (K60049US)

My wife bough a similar product several years ago for her old CRT monitor. It worked well and I liked the "lazy Susan" carousel. Took some time to find this item. Don't like to purchase items that service structural purposes on the web so I was wary. To my pleasure this item has good weight, substantial construction and good storage capacity on the carousel. Support is metal and the carousel plastic. Only complaint is that the carousel drags when rotating it. Looks like it needs more clearance between the carousel bottom the the unit base. This issue would not stop me from buying this again or recommending it to you.

Allsop 27021 Metal Art Jr Monitor Stand (Pewter) Review

If you own a laptop and use an external LCD monitor or you are just looking to sneak some small peripherals or desk accessories beneath your monitor or an inkjet printer, look no further. The MetalArt Jr. is a classy alternative to molded plastic stands intended for beafier CRT monitors. I ordered the product to use as a stand for a 17" LCD monitor. Not only does it raise the monitor to the ideal height, but it is spaced perfectly to store my IBM T40 laptop and docking station neatly beneath. The perforated metal at the top of the stand allows air to flow freely and keeps both the laptop and monitor cool.
The description doesn't give the dimensions of the stand, which are very important since its size is not traditional, so I'll list them here (from the manufacturer): 11" x 15" x 4.5".

Strange, but true - not every desk is designed with a computer in mind. I know it is hard to believe in this day and age, but whatever. And what about those of you using a countertop or table as a computer desk? Sure the computer will fit the monitor goes behind the keyboard, the CPU goes , well, the CPU goes wherever the wires allow. You can just pull up a folding chair and start clicking away. But that does not sound very appealing, does it? No ergonomics there. The Metal Art Jr. helps your computer fit into your life. Both in function and in form. Forged from steel, it provides a sturdy shelf for your monitor or printer. And theres space beneath for your keyboard or other office supplies. Its compact base makes it perfect for flat panel monitors and even laptops. The simple curved design and powder-coated finish arent meant to match your computer. They help create a balance between the comfortable feel of your home or office and the technical convenience of your computer. In a nutshell, the Metal Art Jr. gives your monitor or laptop a lift and looks good doing it.
