Portable Laptop Desk Tray Caddy Double Boards Review

Portable Laptop Desk Tray Caddy Double Boards
Average Reviews:

The table has a terrible design. You basically need to work at the very edge of the bed to even reach the computer because it doesn't roll under the bed enough because the stand prevents it. Then it is super uncomfortable when you find yourself at the edge of the bed trying to work. It is also very flimsy, unstable and it doesn't roll smoothly, it gets stock when you try rolling it. Not a worth spending of money. I am trying to return it.

Kensington Lift-off Portable Notebook Computer Cooling Stand - 60149 Review

Kensington Lift-off Portable Notebook Computer Cooling Stand - 60149
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I looked at about 8 different cooling stands all over the net until I narrowed it down to this one and something called the iLap, which was over 3 times more expensive than this one. My primary criteria for the stand was that it be able to be used while lying down flat on my back not just while sitting at a table/desk or upright on my lap. Another criteria was that it keep my clothing from getting hot from the laptop but that it not have to use one of my USB ports or electricity to power a fan like some of the cooling stands did. And lastly that it fit my 13.3" MacBook. Both Kensington and iLap fit all of this criteria. I ordered this one from Amazon and the iLap from the Apple Store. Both had near 5 star reviews.
The Kensington arrived about 3 days later and I began using it immediately. My primary worries turned out not to be issues when I opened the box and acutually was able to see the product. Those worries concerned two issues. 1. That the laptop would not really be cooler because it would touch the base of the stand which appeared to be a flat sheet of V shaped plastic. The unit actually has a large square hole on the top side to allow air to flow to the laptop base. 2. The laptop would slip around since there didn't seem to be anything to hold it in place (the iLap had a removable suede cushioned lip to hold the computer in place). Again this was unfounded because the same large square hole in the top side had a rubber (or rubber like anyway) ring all the way around it which holds the laptop in place. As a bonus it also fit my 15" Dell laptop. Both the 13.3" and the 15" laptops hang over the sides of the stand but that's not an issue. And the unit can easily be used while laying down in bed without raising the laptop too high or requiring me to place my hands at a weird uncomfortable angle in order to type or use the trackpad.
On the other hand the iLap arrived a day latter and was totally unusable. The removable suede cushion on the iLap required me to place my hands high above the laptop in a really awkward position in order to use the keyboard while lying down and using it without the cushion so I could position my hands comfortably resulted in the laptop not being stable and sliding all over the place. Additionally there was no opening in the iLap to allow air circulation although the stand was made out of aluminum with sand-blasted and silver anodized finish.
Bottom line I kept this Kensington stand (and I'm using it right now) and sent the iLap back for a refund.
I highly recommend this stand. And if it turns out not to be too durable as some have hypothesized and only lasts a year that will cost less than a nickel a day and I will just buy another one. However I don't believe this is going to happen.

3M Extra-Wide Adjustable Monitor Stand (MS90MB) Review

3M Extra-Wide Adjustable Monitor Stand (MS90MB)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This all-plastic stand is wide enough for laptops to fit underneath, but not standard desktop keyboards. I tried to use it for a dvd player (16 3/4" wide) under a 19" LCD TV, but it was not wide enough (spec of 16" clearance before you hit the legs is pretty exact). If you're thinking of having an object wider than 16" to extend past the platform edges, that probably won't work either as the front and back legs are pretty close together - you only have 11.3 cm (4.45") between them to squeeze through.
Legs come off pretty easy if you lift the platform up off the table. It's plenty stable when at rest and in use. It's just inconvenient when picking it up to move it to have the legs fall off.
Measurements: I measured it, and the dimensions given in the description are prettty accurate. The platform is not a true square as all four sides bow out a bit (for style): 20 x 12" are the dimensions at their longest (through the middle). As stated, it does raise the monitor from 1" to 5.875" in increments of 1.625" (1 5/8). As stated, you have almost exactly 16" between the left and right legs to fit a wide object. But not stated, you have just 4.45" (11.3 cm) of clearance between the front and back legs. Trivia: The cross-sectional dimensions of the leg segments: 3.2 x 6.7 cm (with round corners).
Not too expensive at thirty. Looks ok.

Split-Top Laptop Caddy Portable Adjustable Rollin Review

Split-Top Laptop Caddy Portable Adjustable Rollin
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I chose this product out of many other similar alternatives that serve the same function due to the pricing.
Though I was missing a small part, it did not affect the function and performance as it was irrelevant to the overall use. I LOVE this product so far. It looks exactly as it does in the image, and has allowed me to lay in bed while using my computer.
My only advice to future customers is to truly read the directions (PICTURES, rather) and lay out how you will build BEFORE starting. I made several mistakes and had to repeat the undoing/redoing process.
However, the frustration and time it took me was WELL WORTH the hassle considering that the price/looks/function met my expectations. If anything, I would say it went beyond, as it looks much more pricier, modern, and high-tech. Despite my bedroom furniture being brown, it works. Note: The picture looks as though you can only use it on the right side of the bed, for right handed people, but in fact, it will rotate the other direction, allowing it for left-handed users for left side of the bed.
Enjoy the product!

New Adjustable Computer Laptop Desk Bed Table Desk W/ Drawer Review

New Adjustable Computer Laptop Desk Bed Table Desk W/ Drawer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pros - It's well designed (i.e. adjustments for thigh height book angle). My wife likes it a lot for propping up her books in bed while breastfeeding the new baby. Top surface is smooth and well varnished. It even has a drawer in the side.
Cons - The material is pine, which wouldn't be so bad, but there are many knots and the lower surfaces were not sealed. There was an incredible amount of sap or pine resin covering the lower parts of the device. It was really sticky and has to be cleaned before you can use it. Some of the cuts made in the factory on the lower pieces, (i.e. notches to hold the angle of the book) were not clean and properly post-process sanded.
You get a little bit more than what you paid for here. To make this device out of higher grade wood, professional cuts, have it sanded, stained & sealed would have added considerably to the cost & weight. I thought about making this kind of thing by hand, but it would have taken a while and wouldn't have been as well designed and adjustable as is this device. I think it was money reasonably spent for a short term needed device (i.e., until the baby can go the night without feeding). But, if you want a laptop reading device to go the long haul, consider something made with higher quality components.

Tabletote - Portable Compact Lightweight Laptop Notebook Stand Review

Tabletote - Portable Compact Lightweight Laptop Notebook Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you travel and you have a notebook computer, you need this table. It truly weighs only 3 pounds. I couldn't believe the small size of the package when it arrived. But don't let the size of the package fool you. The top expands to hold not only a notebook computer but also provides ample space for a mouse, if you use one.
The legs telescope down and fit into the underside of the table. When the legs are opened, they twist securely to whatever height you need. When traveling, that's important, since hotel chairs come in various heights. You'll be able to adjust this little table to whichever height is most comfortable for you to work.
There is also a document holder included. It's not fancy, but it does the job. The document holder comes apart and stores underneath the table, along with the legs. There's a spongy place there to store the document holder.
This table is so small when the legs are stored underneath, that you can easily store it in a briefcase or whatever case you use to carry your notebook computer.

My Place Cozy Deluxe Personal Workstation w/ Built In Cushion Review

My Place Cozy Deluxe Personal Workstation w/ Built In Cushion
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was looking for something that I could put my laptop on when using it on the bed or on the couch, and this product is fine for that. I paid $25 for it - it was overpriced, and I see it's gone down since I bought it. I think it's still over-priced though. From the picture, it appeared to have some type of indent where the laptop would go - it doesn't. It also looks like you could fit your laptop, a cup, and use the pencil holder, too. You can't, unless your laptop is some type of mini one. Mine is average to small sized, and covers up both the cup holder and the pencil holder. I didn't care about the lamp, so don't know if it's helpful or not - I don't need it, so haven't bought batteries for it.
I guess what matters is that it serves my purposes - I really didn't need a cup-holder or pencil holder, but I do think the picture misrepresents it. It does what I wanted it for - keeps the laptop and heat off of me, and the soft pillow under it is nice - it's comfortable on my lap. It gives me the flat surface I need to use it on the bed, too.
I do think it's cheaply made, and over-priced. I'd say $10 would be a fair price for this item. It's really the first thing I've bought from Amazon that I've been disappointed in - both the quality and the price, but, as I said, it does what I needed it for so I'm not totally disappointed. Just be aware that it's not quite the "cozy place" it looks like - it will hold your laptop, and nothing else.

- Adjustable Vented Laptop Table Laptop Computer Desk Portable Bed Tray Book Stand Multifuctional and Ergonomics Design Dual Layer Tabletop up to 17
Average Reviews:

Very versatile and light. The product could be sturdier, but then it would not be as light (portability) or easy to change the setup (versatility). There are several models of this product but I chose A4 because it is 1" wider and it has a rubber pad along the horizontal bottom that touches your laptop. There is another model that has a cooling mechanism (and no rubber pad), but the dual layer setup of this model can take care of the cooling. I was surprised to see the hollow core (that's what "dual layer" means) - for aesthetic reasons a closed edge would look nicer, but this allows heat to escape. Changing the angles is not as quick as I thought since you have to press the button in while simultaneously changing the angle. But this is probably preferable to buttons that pop out, since part of what makes this great is you can actually pack it up and take it places since it's so streamlined. Despite these observations, it's hard to see how they could come up with a better design, all things considered. I hope they have other model wider than 10.5" to fit most laptops from top to bottom (the side-to-side width of 19" is great). The actual flat surface from top to bottom is only 9.75" because the remaining 0.75" is the rubber edge. My laptop is still stable enough on it. One reviewer said the 19" is wide enough to write notes on the side, but I find that doing so takes away some stability. Again, that's the tradeoff of less stability and more lightness. Probably I would prefer a little more stability but still think it's a great product.

Alden Laptop Tray with Foldable Legs in Antique Walnut Finish Review

Alden Laptop Tray with Foldable Legs in Antique Walnut Finish
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The product looks relatively nice, but my experience hasn't been a very good one. To begin with, the desk arrived with a small nick in the ledge along the bottom which is meant to prevent papers or a laptop from slipping off. Now, after about a month of owning the product and using it pretty lightly to hold my laptop, the desktop has split, literally from end to end down the right side, above the drawer. As much as I enjoyed having a way to elevate my laptop while working, and as much as I prefer a wooden desk to a plastic one, I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend this product to another buyer.

Rubbermaid® Office Solutions Adjustable Laptop Stand & 2-Port 2.0 USB/Power Outlet Hub Review

Rubbermaid® Office Solutions Adjustable Laptop Stand and 2-Port 2.0 USB/Power Outlet Hub
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I use my laptop 12-14 hours a day, and without a stand I have to lean over quite a bit because I'm tall. I was getting a very stiff upper back and neck, to the point that it hurt to turn my head to the side.
I looked at a lot of laptop stands, but all of them were either too expensive (>$30), too flimsy, or too small for my behemoth laptop (a Clevo D900K). My laptop weighs 13+ lbs, and I wasn't going to trust it to some lightweight plastic.
So I did what any self-respecting geek would do, and built my own custom laptop stand out of extruded aluminum and Erector set pieces. It worked fine, and I built a second one for work.
I used these for 2 years, but then yesterday I saw this Rubbermaid stand in Wal-Mart for $17. My coworker bought one; I tried it with my laptop and it was big and sturdy enough, and the rest is history. I went back this morning and bought three for myself. This thing holds my laptop securely - I mean it's rock-solid - and it gets it higher than my custom one. For $17 you can't go wrong, and your neck will thank you!

I bought this for my teenage son's room to be used for homework, as a laptop desk, snack table and end table. But the fact is that this little table hasn't spent much time in his room because the whole family seems to find uses for it. It was worth every penney.
It's also surprisingly well made and very sturdy. It doesn't feel cheap at all. Really my only complaint is that the handle for adjusting the height sticks out into the kneespace, but based on the picture it's possible that was how my husband happened to assemble it.
Honestly I'd buy a couple more to keep in other rooms if there were more color/finishes available to blend with the decor in my other rooms.

This folding table is much nicer than the image suggests. In the picture, it looks as if the legs aren't completely straight, but that's not the case -- the high-quality locking hinges extend fully. When in use, the table is stable and steady, and when collapsed requires very little storage space. A beautifully simple and functional alternative to wobbly aluminum TV trays, which is our use for them. Well worth the cost, and highly recommended!

The concept is great. But I have a Toshiba and the electrical connection is to the side of the machine in the back. These set right on top of where I need to plug in the powercord.
