Art brushes, paints, sketchbooks and other small supplies go in the 3 top drawers and it has room for files and larger items in the bottom. Can be used on one side for laptop, and the other for art projects. Also can put storage boxes under one side.
We had little trouble assembling this desk; the instructions are fairly clear, and we are not experts. Just one bobble where we had to remove the hinges from one piece (needed to unscrew 6 screws) to switch the top pieces, as the pieces that keep the leaves from opening too wide were on the wrong side.
All in all, a nice product that is easy to clean. We researched prices, and with the free shipping Amazon offers, this was the best value.
