(More customer reviews)I bought this as an auxillary phone. We've got an answering machine and a fax machine, but I needed an additional phone to be by the computer in my downstairs office and I wanted a speakerphone so when I was telecommuting I could call into meetings and listen to them without holding a receiver up to my ear.
I was convinced to buy this phone by the string (until recently aftet I placed my order) of rave reviews for this phone, combined with the terrible reviews for so many other speakerphones that cost less.
I've only had this phone for a few days, but I can say that it is attractive and seems to be built well. I called in to work and tried out the speakerphone and it seemed to work well on both ends. I heard the other party fine and the other party did said I sounded good.
I like the uncluttered controls with big number buttons and big buttons for volume and speakerphone. I didn't have to pay for a lot of features that I don't need.
This phone also has the added bonus of a headset input, so if I ever need to talk a whole lot from my home office, I could get a headset and talk while keeping both hands free. So far, so good.
Postscript: It's September of 2007 and the speaker volume is now impossible to control and the unit seems to be buzzing. I can't use it for conference calls anymore. I guess I'll buy another one, but I'll look around first.
OOPS! I forgot that this phone is powered by three AA batteries. They need to be replaced on occasion. When they start running down, the speakerphone gets squirrely. So, I replaced them and now the phone works fine.

Cisco SPA942 4-Line IP Phone with 2-Port Switch Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased a half-dozen of these for my startup because they're supported by Vocalocity (our VOIP provider), had the features we want, and the price was right. It's a solid, few-frills, get-the-job-done VOIP phone. Excellent sound quality, and it's attractive on the desk, too.
My only complaint is that the phone uses icons (a picture of a hand for "hold", a piece of paper with a folded corner for "setup") instead of words. At first blush, it's not always intuitive what those icons mean. I understand why Cisco did this (reduced localization costs for a product that can sell in the global market). I almost never read the documentation that comes with electronics, so the first time I needed to place a call on hold, I spent 60 seconds staring at it looking for the "hold" button, dumbfounded that it didn't have one.

AT&T 993 Corded Phone, Black, 1 Handset Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this phone to replace a somewhat similar AT&T 962 that had served me well for five years or so. My application is in a home office that has two lines--one for home and one for office. Important features to me are a speakerphone, caller ID, call waiting caller ID, and a dozen or more dedicated buttons for speed dialing. This phone has all those features, plus additional ones like headset capability that I probably will never use.
The phone looks and feels like a professional telephone. The controls are easy to see and identify, and easy to find and press with your fingers. The 4-line backlit LCD display is easy to see, even in a lightened or darkened room. A 9-volt battery lets the phone operate even during a power outage.
Many of the features are controlled by a menu on the LCD display. The controls and procedures for this are much improved over my older AT&T phone. The manual provides fairly easy-to-follow instructions for the fairly complicated setups that many of the features require.
I'm a bit concerned about the provenance and future of the phone, though, since this model doesn't even have an entry on the manufacturer's web site.
Putting that aside, it seems like quite a good phone for the money, and it's a considerably-refined improvement over its similarly-featured predecessor.

The AT&T 993 Corded 2-Line Speakerphone is perfect for a small business that needs a telephone that supports two lines. You can make and receive calls by using the keypad and Speakerphone in the base station. The phone's three-party conferencing lets you conduct business with three people conversing together on three different lines. (More customer reviews)I work from home on a regular basis and this product solved the problem of not having a good solution for conducting conference calls from my home office. As stated in the literature, it doesn't pick up past about 7 feet from the phone but I actually think that is a good thing since any possible background noise (i.e. dog barking in another room) doesn't come across the call and distract the participants. Great phone and great buy. Highly recommended for small conf table or home office use.

Polycom CX100 Speakerphone Review

(More customer reviews)Since Polycom came out with C100S for Skype over a year ago, the "Polycom Communicator" has been a viral-marketing sucess story. (I saw someone with one and decided to buy one for myself.)
The newer CX-100 is designed to be used with Microsoft's Office Communicator 2007 (MOC) client. This is the best $115 bucks you can spend on a PC VoIP accessory. The sound quality rivals Polycom's high-end, star-shaped conference room phones but with the convenience of a truly portable device. I travel frequently and utilize my CX-100 with MOC and other VoIP soft-clients when I'm in the hotel, airport lounges, Starbucks stores, etc. I prefer using the CX100 instead of a bluetooth headset because it offers better 'mobility' around my hotel room than a bluetooth headset - I can shave, get dressed,pack my bag, all while listening to an early morning conference call - without worrying if I'm going to knock an earbud out and into the sink (or worse, the toilet.) When I need privacy, I plug my iPod earbuds into the headphone jack on the side of the CX100. The noise cancelling on the CX100 is outstanding. While a lot of laptops are supporting higher quality microphones and speakers, they have some serious drawbacks - namely picking up typing sounds off of the keyboard - not very 'con-call friendly'.
The CX100 also has the advantage of allowing you to answer an incoming call directly on the CX100 without having to rearrange you PC desktop to find the MOC window to click answer. There are mute and volume control buttons on the CX100 too.
The convenience of the CX100 makes sense in the office too. I make about 50% of my voice calls using the CX100 instead of my convential desk phone.

(More customer reviews)Panasonic is one of the few companies today making a 2-line corded phone with a decent speaker phone. When my 17-year old Panasonic KX-T3155 2-line phone developed excessive static, I decide to try out other brands to see how they stacked up. I bought GE, RCA, and AT&T models, but wound up returning them all to my local Staples, OfficeMax, and Circuit City stores. The speaker phone feature was implemented terribly on all the models (muddy sound, low volume, cutting out when no one was talking on the receiving end, non-functional mute buttons, etc.). If you use the speaker phone feature as much as I do (waiting on hold for customer service, conference calls, etc.), then this is the phone to get. I knocked off one star in the ratings because there is no light for the mute button (like on my old model). Instead, it just displays "Mute" on the LCD. FYI - For some reason, this model is not carried by virtually any retailer (and very few online websites), so that's why I used Amazon.com.

Panasonic KX-TS108W Corded Phone with Clock, White Review

1)The buttons are not tiny, so you won't be pressing the wrong numbers by mistake.
2)The digital readout is good, but after about two years it begins to fade a bit.
3)The sound quality is clear.
4)The cord is way too short though. You have to be sitting right next to the phone. But I simply replaced it with a longer cord.

5)Programing is not too complicated, but keep the manual nearby for when you have to re-program numbers. It is not simple enough to remember how to do it easily.
But it is better than most other phones I have used. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a new phone.

(More customer reviews)Got this phone for my home office. Speakerphone was important to meand ths quality of it on this model is excellent. I like everything about this phone. You will benefit most from this phone if you hook up additional extensions throughout your home or business.
My only cons are:
1 - No backlit display on LCD
2- Only has 3 programmable speed dial numbers.
3- The LINE IN USE indicator only works if another phone of this same model is in use. So if my wife is on the one line with her NON Panasonic KXTS3282 phone, I don't know the phone is in use and will pick it up on accident while she is talking.
4 - Would be nice if the LCD display tilted. Hard to see when it laying flat on your desk. I ended up building a small angled wood stand to prop it up at a 45 degree angle so I could see everything

Polycom Voicestation 500 Analog Conference Phone with Bluetooth Review

(More customer reviews)I recently started a new business venture working out of my home and have utilized my cell phone as my business phone, which works great because I'm able to always keep it with me, but it's less than adequate as an office phone. I purchased the Polycom Voicestation 500 to convert my cell phone to an office phone while at home and it works great. It's very easy and reliable to connect and disconnect via Bluetooth and, while connected, the quality of the full-duplex speakerphone is superb. Additionally, I have the V500 connected to my home landline and can use that line as well whenever needed. And that's where the "nearly perfect" description comes in; I wish the V500 had a caller ID display. I get caller ID on my cell phone display, but when a call comes in on the landline I have to keep a cordless phone (with a caller ID display) to see who's calling. Other than that, the phone is very high quality and delivers on every claim and I would definitely recommend to others.
