(More customer reviews)These refills are almost bulletproof. They write smooth and consistently even on the occasions when I've dropped the point on the concrete floor. This Refill does not lay down a bold line like the Gel Refills do but that also explains the reason why they last for months instead of weeks. I haven't done testing on how permanent the ink is but it doesn't run when exposed to moisture and it never smudges even though I am left handed.

Rollerball Pen Refill, for Parker Pen, Fine Tip, Black Ink PAR30213 Review

(More customer reviews)I'm the sort of pen owner that needs a _slightly_ expensive pen to keep from losing it but not too expensive to make it a target for others to take.
Parker's pens that accept this rollerball refill fit this need perfectly. The pens themselves are nicely weighted but not too heavy. The Parker rollerballs write on better paper smoothly and consistently. The medium tip is a bit "fat" for me, especially on cheaper paper. Combine the fine tip with smooth paper and bang! I've found the mix I like.
Anytime I let someone else use the pen they say "Hey Jim... that's a nice pen!"
The only issue I've found with the Parker rollerball is their tendency to leak after airplane travel. Maybe there is a preferred way to store them for travel but I haven't found one.
