(More customer reviews)I've had numerous P-Touch models over the years, and I think the output they produce is superb. The software for the Mac, on the other hand, has lagged far behind its Windows counterpart. Older versions of the software, in particular, had problems with anything except TrueType fonts.
Now I see that Brother finally released version 5 of the software for OS X. I downloaded it and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had an entirely different, more Mac-like interface, and it handled all of my fonts just fine. I was quite pleased until I tried to use some of my OTHER programs.
It seems that if you uninstall the older version of the software before installing this one--something Brother tells you to do in the instructions--IT WILL WIPE OUT FILES USED BY OTHER PROGRAMS! So far the uninstaller has trashed Office 2008, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Reader, iWork '08, Adobe Creative Suite CS3 and OmniOutliner. It's hard to tell what others might be affected as well. I ended up having to do a clean reinstall of my system, which was NOT a small task.
So, buy the printer if you like, but BEWARE the uninstaller!

I have a Brother QL-500 and it works great for preparing our labels. Just the right size and fully USPS compliant. Peel and stick and all insurance and address info is placed on the label and with Priority Mail you get the free delivery confirmation! We just drop off at the Post Office, no wait! I have had no feed problems and really love this printer and labels.

Brother DK-1202 Paper Shipping Label Roll Review

(More customer reviews)This is great for use with the Brother QL-570 and QL-500 label printers to make big labels to place infront of envelopes but it cant be used to create paypal shipping labels. I made the mistake of trying to use the DK-1202 Label Paper which is the same dimensions as the DK-2205 but not the same length and Paypal shipping wouldnt let me print out shipping labels without the DK-2205 Paper in my label printer.
The DK-1202 is 2-3/7" x 4,
the DK-2205 is 2-3/7" x 100' (which is the one that your soposed to use for paypal shipping)
Dont confuse the two like I did :p as paypal shipping only lets you reprint the shipping label within 24 hours of creating it.

Brother P-Touch QL-500 Manual-Cut PC Label Printing System Review

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this machine for around $100. I have owned label writers in the past and this machine is performing even better than the much more expensive Dymo models. Some of the features that I find unique and usefull are the continueous tape option for banners and the speed at which this machine prints. It prints much faster than previous models I have owned. This label printer has been very easy to set up. The only thing is I might opt for the step up QL-550 next time because it has an auto cutter build in. But in defense of the QL-500, it's manual cutter is very easy to use too and has been a non issue.

Brother DK-2606 Continuous Length Paper Label Roll (Black/Yellow) Review

(More customer reviews)Plex Supply is NOT shipping the DK-2606 FILM instead they're shipping the DK-4605 REMOVABLE PAPER. The product description heading has it as DK-2606 however, it does say PAPER but in the technical description it says FILM while the picture shows DK-4605 paper. ??? Confused, good, you should be. Two places imply one item, two suggest the other item. Who knows what the other sellers will ship you?
Today, July 24th, I sent a request via email and phone for Plex Supply to contact me. Hopefully they'll address the situation but I think Amazon is partly to fault too for the product page.
JUST BE CAREFUL that you're getting what you really want. Otherwise, these labels are great and so are the Brother QL Series Labelers. They blow away the labels from your computer in looks and quality, are much easier to print with and come highly recommended. However, if you're reading about this product you probably already have a Brother QL so I'll stop preaching to the converted. Good luck...

Brother DK-1203 File Folder Label Roll Review

(More customer reviews)I use this size label regularly for small envelope addressing, the die cut size is a lot easier to peel off the sheet than the continuous rolls, if I am doing a big mail out this is a great way of doing the addresses for envelopes
For our mailing purposes we have also done a few hundred this size to stick on all our posting. We send out parcels, envelopes and packages of all sizes and have found these are the best way to produce return addresses for any medium or style of package. You can also design a nice address label for any situation literally in minutes, the standard sizes on the printer software itself makes it easy to know whether you are in the limits of your label size or not
The labels are easy to load and change if you are printing off different sizes and types of labels, that can be done in 60 seconds or less
